Fly is a placeholder name. Please don't try to make up a name until solid evidence can prove it.

Mr. Fly is a character in Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2, along with Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. He is one of the staff in the hotel.

Role[]

Hotel Transylvania[]

Mr. Fly is the fitness coordinator at Hotel Transylvania who works at the pool and the gymnasium. He has a habit of spitting in his hands and rubbing them since its a trait among normal flies, and as he is also a fly. He does this while he was teaching some of the female monsters during the water fitness class and when they tried to do the spit as well, he tells them to not copy it.

Mr. Fly can understand and even speak 'Frozen' as evident as when Quasimodo Wilson tried to tell all the monsters that Johnnystein is a human as he suspected, Mr. Fly was able to translate the chef's words, which fully exposed Johnny's identity.

Hotel Transylvania 2[]

He is shown at the front desk looking at and commenting on a phone app Johnny showed him. He appears to have a child, and they both attend the birthday party of Werewolf Kids. In the party, however, some the wolf pups becoming extremely hyperactive after devouring candies inside a piñata Mavis hit, he picks up his running kid before he being run over by the uncontrolled pups.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation[]

The Fly was one of the monsters who joined the other monsters on the vacation cruise. On the Gremlin Air plane, one gremlin rolled over the Fly with his food cart, popping an eye out after getting squished.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania[]

Inspiration[]

He was likely modelled after the character from the 1958 and 1986 films The Fly who was a human scientist who mixed his DNA with a fly's in a teleporter mishap. Coincidentally, Mel Brooks, the voice actor of Vlad Dracula, had a hand in producing the David Cronenberg version, though he intentionally kept his involvement with it secret from press releases; citing concerns that people who would see the movie's advertising with his name on it would go in thinking it would be like one of his comedies (a similar thing happened with The Elephant Man which he also produced).
